Art is a wonderful vehicle that allows great freedom of expression. It is an indispensable element of our society.

Photo de HelderHelder Batista was born in Paris in 1964 to Hispano-Portuguese parents. His childhood was surrounded by painting and drawing. He remained self-taught until 2005 when he took courses in various workshops.

Many artists have inspired him, including Combas, Kieffer, Basquiat, Soutine, but also some more traditional work by Monet and Pissarro.

His paintings reflect various stages of emotional life (happiness, sorrow, anguish, joy) thanks to a panel of colors (bright to dull, light to dark). He also driven by other trends in today’s life (pollution, aggressiveness, genetically modified species, our collective health) that lead to a provocative reflection and analysis of our everyday lives.

His work translates artistically some meaning of what he sees around him, with all that he perceives from the audio visual media, the crowded city, the countryside, his entourage and himself. It’s a personal reflection of everything that is the “packaging” of a human being.

Open to all arts, he has even began to sculpture, recycling materials in a playful way.
